an ongoing photographic practice
still
messengers
Ordinary light. Unposed moments. Walking with no agenda. Colour and chance, found in passing.
The poetry
of ordinary light.
These photographs begin with looking rather than searching. A reflection, a shadow, a surface, a fragment of colour — something briefly rearranges the familiar.
The camera becomes a way of staying with that moment long enough for another image to appear inside the first.
A reflection is never only a reflection. It alters what was already there.
still_messengers leaves room for ambiguity. What appears may not be all there is.
A quiet
way of seeing.
Walking without an agenda. Looking without searching.
Light, colour, surfaces, reflections and fragments appear in passing.
A moment to pause. To look again.
“Just look and just listen. No more is needed.”
— Eckhart Tolle, Stillness Speaks
